Hawaii, for many outsiders, conjures up images of colourful flowers, especially in the form of huge leis, or necklaces. The Aloha Festivals Floral Parade in Honolulu lives up to this reputation, celebrating the islands' abundant array of floral life.
The day is filled with a multitude of floral floats, pa'u riders and marching bands. The parade ranks as one of the most impressive in the whole of the United States - so much so that each year it is shown on national television. But, of course, nothing beats the sweet smells and real colours of actually being there!
